Fall 2016 Training Dates:

20-hr Foundations of Teaching Yoga: December 10th-11th 9:00a-12:00p & 1:00p-5:30p

Tuition: $250 (+/-$50 for extracurricular class experience)

This 20-hour certificate course will provide you with basic skills so that you can successfully administer yoga classes. Among the topics covered will be asana (physical postures), pranayam (breathwork) and meditation/relaxation, and how to weave them together to create a balanced class experience. Particular attention will be paid to safety concerns and the ethics of teaching yoga. During the training you will also have an opportunity to practice teaching and to observe and critique others. Successful completion of the 20-hr course will make you eligible to teach yoga at the University of West Georgia UREC (though it does not guarantee you a position). While the course is not Yoga Alliance-approved, those wishing to continue toward their 200-hr Yoga Alliance-approved, Yoga Psychology Teacher Training certification with Evolutionary Education® will receive a $250 credit toward their tuition.
